Next week, the parishes of our Diocese will take up the Catholic Relief Services Collection.  This Collection is an opportunity for the faithful to support your brothers and sisters in Chile, devastated by last week's earthquake and
tsunami.
Please be generous to this special need as you were to the recent special
collection on behalf of similar victims in Haiti.  To date the good people of the Diocese of Sioux City have contributed $299,800 for relief and recovery efforts in Haiti.   By helping the marginalized and impoverished, you give hope to
Jesus in disguise.  Please be charitable in next week's Catholic Relief Services
Collection.

Grief
The death of a family member, close relative, or friend can be a painful experience.  Often, society puts
expectations on the bereaved person to "pull together" and to get on with life.  Yet the feelings of sadness and grief may at times be overwhelming and disrupting.
The passage of time helps to ease the pain of grief.
However, time alone is not enough.  You may feel
helpless, angry, need time to talk and cry.  It takes great courage to risk feeling the depth of the loss.  You may need to tell and retell the story of your loss.  Support groups provide a place where you can vocalize your
feelings and experiences with others who are also,
grieving.  Services are offered regardless of age, race, sex, religion, disability, economic ability or national origin.  For more information call Community Hospice Office at
712-464-3171, ext. 4238 or 800-262-2614.
