The Sacred Heart Peace and Justice Committee is taking action!
These Lenten Projects will begin on Ash Wednesday. 

During Lent we will be collecting materials for the "Ugly Quilts" this recycled
material is used to make simple sleeping bags that are distributed FREE to people who are cold on the streets.  This is a mission of "My Brothers' Keeper Group" at the St. Joseph Church in Milford, Ia.  Their purpose is to help the homeless be warm until they can be helped or healed by others in our society.  Can you help?  Donations should be the size of one 5 foot square of material or several pieces sewn together to equal a 5 foot square of material (bed sheets can NOT be used).

We will also collect Medicines for HAITI. Now, more than ever, our donations are needed, you can help by supplying these items (unopened/unused):
Aspirin/Tylenol, Anti-diarrhea medicine, vitamins with iron, bandages/gauze,
anti-bacterial ointments, cough medicines.

The Penance Tree will be set up. You are asked to take a tag from the basket by the tree, read it, hang it on the tree and do the penance during Lent.

Loring Hospital is offering Wellness Screenings each Wednesday in February from
7:00 am to 8:30 am in the Loring Education Room. Tests available include Lipid
Profile, PSA, TSH and Blood Sugar. All tests

Did you see the flyer in last week's bulletin? - We are looking for people to host/decorate a table for "Gallery of Tables" held at Sacred Heart in Early at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 7. The sizes available are 60" round (seats 6) and 30" x 96" (seats 8). Dessert will be placed on a paper plate then set on your tableware. Invite enough people to fill your table or we will help fill it for you. Cheryl Gerry of Details in Sac City will be on hand with a decor presentation.
