Rich and Ellie spent 14 days at an orphanage where the children ask "is there food in heaven?" Join us for coffee and cookies to learn first hand how the poorest country in the western hemisphere survives from day to day. DEADLINE: September 13, 2009.Text Box: The Family of John and Eleanor Dick happily announce a $5000 donation to Sacred Heart Parish in the form of an annual scholarship of $250 to a graduating senior from the parish. The principal is preserved and the interest earned provides the annual scholarship. 2009 high school graduates who are interested should write an application letter stating how they would use the money. Please address the letter of application to the Dick Scholarship Committee, give it to Fr. John or send it to the Sacred Heart Parish Office. Deadline: August 30, 2009. Scholarship will be awarded by September 13, 2009.Text Box: The Sacred Heart Peace and Justice Committee participates in the “Commitment to Community Excellence” program sponsored by Hy-Vee, Storm Lake. Bring your Hy-Vee receipts to the church and put them in the orange box marked “PEACE AND JUSTICE” located in the vestibule. When we have collected receipts totaling $18,750.00 they can be redeemed for $125 in cash that will be used for Mission Projects supported by this committee. FYI-we have $5581.13 to go before reaching the goal. Please bring your receipts in as soon as possible. Thank you!
