Vara (Bones) Groot '60 was in Storm Lake as the featured speaker for the "Women in Denim" event held at Buena Vista University campus January 14th and 15th, 2005.

Bert was a football coach and teacher at Early and Crestland from 1949 through 1959. He celebrated his 90th birthday in February 2005.

This seven-chapter book with photos was written by Bert Kurth's daugher Jean (Kurth) Davis, classmate of the Crestland Class of '62.
