Do you like this website? Have you looked at the senior photos or viewed
 the Notices page
for Bios of your classmates? There
is also a page with many obituaries.

It takes a lot of
work to keep the website updated,
to purchase hosting space and domain name. The Crestland Reunion Committee also spends a lot of time organizing reunions.

Please show your appreciation by contributing something to help keep these
 reunions going.
Thank you for your donation. Your amount will be
added to your account allowing
 you to accrue a
star whenever your total reaches $100 since records started being kept in 1993.

Crestland Community School 1959 - 1989

This was the first year that an all-school reunion was held from those classes that had attended the Early School at one time or another. Represented were Early High-School alumni, Crestland (Early and Nemaha), and Schaller-Crestland (Early, Nemaha, Schaller).

This was the first reunion where no invitations were mailed. Instead, notices were posted on Facebook with the request for class members to contact their own classmates. There were classes at the reunion represented from 1941 - 201--with the majority from the Crestland era.

Click on Reunion 2012 for photos from this reunion. You may also reach the photo albums from all years by following the "Photo Albums" link at left, then selecting the link for the reunion you wish to browse. Most of the Crestland classes also have their graduation photos displayed on this website under the "Photo Albums > Graduation Photos" link.

The expenses this year without exhorbitant room rental nor mailing costs allowed expenses to be recouped with only a donation bucket placed by the checkin table. As usual, the reunion members outdid themselves making this the first year to slightly exceed expenses. The volunteer web designer has agreed to do an overhaul of the website in the near future. Not only will the new design show up better on the wider computer screens, but it will also be interactive for alumni to be able to log in and add comments, photos, and list their own upcoming reunions. The revised website should be ready by this October.

The new website will be for the All-School reunions to be held in the future. With this in mind, the old website will still be accessible as a historical view of the Crestland Reunions that started in 1993 with the last Crestland-only alumni invited in 2010. It is with a happy outlook to the future that the All-School (Early, Crestland, Schaller-Crestland) can continue to hold periodic reunions and to keep in touch through Facebook.

School reunions are always a good way to reconnect with your classmates and other area friends during Crossroads Days. Currently Sacred Heart All School and Crestland, Schaller-Crestland Reunion, are planning reunions. Email us if your class is planning a reunion and we will post it here.

Crestland was a combined school consisting of students from the towns of Early and Nemaha in Sac County, Iowa. They consolidated in the fall of 1958 with each school keeping their own grade school, junior high in Nemaha and High School in Early. In the late 1980s, Crestland started grade-sharing with Schaller. In 1989 they consolidated with the three towns - Early, Nemaha, and Schaller forming the Schaller-Crestland School District.

In 2003 the first Crestland School Reunion was held for Crestland Alumni who graduated from 1959 through 1989. The reunion has continued during Early's Crossroads Days and during the Early Quasquicentennial in 2007. This site will be maintained to announce current and future reunions. Feel free to check back for up-to-date information on this and other planned class and school reunions in the area.
