Todd Stamp wasn't a guy to just sit around watching TV - unless the Chicago Cubs happened to be playing baseball.

"He was just so much of an active guy . . . hunting, fishing and > always working on some sort of (construction) project," said Pam Westin, his sister. "He was a gregarious guy who was always on the go, always making friends."

Stamp, 41, collapsed and died on the floor of his northwest Omaha house Thursday night while at home with his 4-year-old son, Lake.

He was found dead by his wife, Kristi, shortly after 9 p.m., said Marty Bilek, chief deputy in the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. An autopsy found that Stamp had an enlarged heart, Westin said.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Northwest Hills United Church of Christ, 9334 Fort St.

"This was an enormous shock," Westin said. "It will take a long time to sink in."

Stamp, an Omaha native, graduated from Burke High School in 1986. He supported his small family by running a lawn care business in warm weather and snow removal in winter.

Westin said her brother was a "jack of all trades" who also took on residential and commercial construction projects.

"He was very talented," she said. "He never had a problem staying busy."

For recreation, Stamp loved to follow his beloved Cubs and the Kansas City Chiefs football team. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He and his brother, Randy, once discovered an uncharted lake during a fishing trip to Canada, and it was later named Stamp Lake.

For hunting, Todd Stamp believed the Nebraska Sand Hills couldn't be topped.

"The Sand Hills were his favorite spot in the whole world," Westin said. "He said it was so beautiful and peaceful."

Other survivors include Stamp's parents, Craig and Janice Stamp of Omaha; and sister, Jill Stamp, of Omaha.
