Mortenson Family Reunion 2009

The Mortenson Family Reunion was held in Branson, Mo. on June 27 & 28th, 2009. The guests stayed at:

Plans were discussed for a reunion in 2011. Sharon volunteered to host it in the Sedalia, MO. area.

Larry and Darlene also volunteered to host it in the Kansas City area if they have relocated by then.

Watch this site for other options. There may be other cousins who would also like to host the reunion. Either way, it looks promising for a Mortenson Cousin's Reunion in 2011.

The 2009 Mortenson Reunion Cookbook

Most of you had received a letter from Ronda Mortenson requesting information for a cookbook she made for the 2009 reunion. Here is how the cookbook came to be:

"When visiting with Grandma Eleanor Mortenson in the nursing home after the last reunion she wished she had some of her 'no sugar' recipes so she could send them to her son. Then when speaking to other family members she found that they also had memories of Grandma's special dishes and wish now they had the recipe. The last Mortenson Family Cookbook was printed in 1991. I would treasure a collection of our family recipes as I know you would as well."

The cookbooks were available at the reunion and are filled with old family favorites.
