Artistic Look at Landing's Cabinet Shop Every year The Landing, a living history museum in Shakopee, MN, is open on weekends in December to show how Christmas and Hanukkah were celebrated on the MN frontier during the 19th century.  We are on hand to man the cabinet shop and demonstrate how woodcraft used to be done. Shown are watercolors of me as I busily worked away on a small hanging cupboard.

The Greek Revival: America's First National Building Style
The Greek Revival was favored by many in the burgeoning merchant class along the East Coast. The Whipple House of Salem, MA was built in 1843 and is a classic example of this new style.

HDC specializes in the selection of millwork, including doors, windows and molding, that are appropriate for the age and style of your building. We can develop exterior and interior color schemes using period colors and provide plans for reconstructing porches and exterior ornaments. We also can assist homeowners in researching the history of their property and develop maintenance plans that will address the special needs of older homes.
