![]() A large group of people gathered on the stands that had been set up on main street. A film crew
and photographers were perched on rooftops while an aerial photographer flying overhead took photos and video of the final performance. The members of the Farmall Promenade, their spouses and family members had spent the week moving in bleachers, picnic tables, setting up the large tent for the evening meal and live music, and filling the fire station building with refrigerated units for the food and beverages to be served to the audience. A restored "Mountain Howitzer" from the
Civil War era was manned by Civil War reenactors who fired it after the Salute
to the American Flag and at the end of the Final Dance. The weather for the performance was sunny and slightly warm with an 85 degree high. Guests who arrived early were
invited to browse the displays that vendors had set up in the park. The face painting stand was a popular attraction for young people who could
chose which of the local mustache styles they wanted to imitate. Following
the last dance, there was a catered meal under the big tent followed by a street
dance featuring Fat Tuesday & the Grease Fire Horns. With a final wave, the Farmall Promenade members from Nemaha, Iowa, bid you farewell ! ![]() Return to top |
