United Methodist Church LogoWelcome to our church. We appreciate your interest. It is our goal to provide an environment where you can grow and develop in your walk of faith.

Our worship services provide opportunities for people to gather for worship. This allows you to explore what becoming a disciple of Jesus means. Our ministries make it possible for individuals to connect in fellowship, spiritual growth and service.

Lord God, bless the ministries of Your Church. We thank you for the variety of gifts You have bestowed upon us. Draw us together in one Spirit, that each of us may use our differing gifts as members of one body. May Your Word be proclaimed with faithfulness, and may we be doers of Your Word and not hearers only. As we who have died and risen with Christ in baptism, gather at His table and then scatter into the world, may we be one in service to others in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for week beginning July 13, 2008

Heavenly Father,

We raise our hearts in praise for your wonderful works, glorious creation, and unfailing mercy. You alone are worthy of our worship. Let all of our days be filled with connection with you, prayers, songs, and study of your scripture.

Loving Lord, our Savior, we lift to you our concerns. We turn to you in trust for we know you hear our cries and know our needs. Jesus, be ever present with us, walking beside us and leading us on the path to closer relationship with you.

Holy Spirit, come reside with us. Fill our churches, homes, and lives with your presence. Be the spiritual winds in our lives, uplifting us and giving us wings.

Gracious God, we know we are sinners. Our good intentions get lost in our busyness when we lose sight of your will for our lives. Forgive us. Let us begin each day anew in dedicated purpose to Christian living, service, and worship.

All things are possible with you! Praise God!

In the name of Jesus our risen savior we pray. Amen.

Hymn of preparation: I Went Down to the River to Pray

As I went down in the river to pray, Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown, Good Lord, show me the way!

O sisters let's go down, Let's go down, come on down,
O sisters let's go down, Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray, Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown, Good Lord, show me the way!

O brothers let's go down, Let's go down, come on down,
Come on brothers let's go down, Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray, Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown, Good Lord, show me the way!

O fathers let's go down, Let's go down, come on down,
O fathers let's go down, Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray, Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown, Good Lord, show me the way!

O mothers let's go down, Let's go down, don't you want to go down,
Come on mothers let's go down, Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the starry crown Good Lord, show me the way!

O sinners let's go down, Let's go down, come on down,
O sinners let's go down, Down in the river to pray.

As I went down in the river to pray, Studying about that good old way
And who shall wear the robe and crown Good Lord, show me the way!
