Nadine Baker ; Neil & Anita Mason(Anniv.)

Thank You
To Members of the Early United Methodist Church…

I have been blessed to serve as your church secretary for the last twenty-five years, and I cherish all the memories I have made in this ministry for Christ.  It’s been a joy working with such a faithful and caring church family.  Thank you so much for the wonderful retirement party, the beautiful roses and corsage, the thoughtful words, the many cards and gifts, and for sharing your lives with me throughout the years. I will treasure the beautiful garden statuaries and they will have a special place in the landscaping at our home.  I really appreciate all your thoughtfulness.  May God’s blessings be with you as we continue to follow His way.                                                                                Sincerely,  Anita Mason

Are you looking for a place to dine on Valentine’s Day? If you are, the Early Achievers have just the solution for you!  Come join us at the Sacred Heart Parish Center in Early on February 4th for the Second Annual Candle Light Supper. You can come with your sweetheart or just a group of friends.  We have seating for as little as one person or for a group of up to eight!

Our menu will include roast beef or pork loin, mashed or baked potatoes, green beans, a lettuce salad complete with dressings, and a dessert!  You won’t want to miss this!  We have time slots available from 5 p.m. Until 7:20 p.m. The profits of the supper will go towards Sac County Relay for Life, the family of Kinzie Erpelding and towards sending our club members to the State 4-H Conference in the summer. This dinner is RESERVATIONS ONLY!

For more information or to reserve your spot at the dinner please contact Renae Drey or any Early Achievers member. When contacting the member, be sure to know how many people are going to be in your group and what time you would like to eat.

Time slots go fast and ticket sales end January 24th so don’t delay! We hope to see you on February 4th!

Each week a written prayer for our church will be included in the bulletin...
We hope these prayers will be an inspiration for our church family to pray.

Prayer for week beginning January 29, 2012

Heavenly Father,

In you we find our home, our place of refuge and security. We can trust you to be our rock, our solid foundation, and immoveable when all else seems temporary. Let our prayers be reflections of our love for you, our loving Father, gracious Savior, and Holy Spirit.

Help us to always find our joy in you - not in things, places, and possessions. Let us place more value on relationships than acquisitions. Lead us to understand the concept of home in you - the place where we are unconditionally loved and our most elemental needs are always met.

Surround us with your loving arms, giving us courage when ours fails. Hold us up when our strength is gone. Equip us to be your messengers, able to share our confidence in you with all those we encounter.

We raise to you those who have no roof over their heads. Protect them from harm, provide for them, and let us be determined in our mission to serve them with compassion, guarding their dignity, preserving their pride, and valuing them as your children.

All these things we pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, we lower our heads before you and we confess that we have too often forgotten that we are yours. Sometimes we carry on our lives as if there was no God and we fall short of being a credible witness to You. For these things we ask your forgiveness.

Feb.14, 2012 - Valentine's Day
Love
“Jesus, knowing that God had given all things into His hands took a towel” He washed the disciples’ feet. He could have taken a throne, or a scepter, or a crown; but He took a towel. Love always does what it does not have to do. People do not have to go to foreign fields and become missionaries. Love sends them there. Paul did not have to go to prison and spend nights in dark dungeons with a bleeding back and with his feet in stocks. Love sent him there. A mother does not have to watch her baby through long days and weary nights, but her love makes her do it. Yes love, always does what it does not have to do, yet love has to do what it does because it is love.
