 Life-saver makes his day, 80 years laterEARLY,
Iowa -- It's sunny and clear this Tuesday in Northwest Iowa, the
15th day of November, 2011. Ed Schramm, anxious and content, readies
for a basketball quadruple-header.

 Prairie Pedlar - August 28, 2011
The
Odebolt UMC invited the Early UMC to worship together with them on Sunday,
August 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Prairie Pedlar near Odebolt. A contributed meal was
held following the service.The service was held in the refurbished haymow of the large barn at Prairie
Pedlar. Pastor DeeAnn
Knapp led the service along with the music controller and visual aids displayed
on the screen.

 December 5, 2010
The church was beautifully decorated for Christmas at the first December
service. The tree graced the front of the sanctuary with a nativity scene on the
altar. There was greenery across the railing and Christmas bouquets near the
pulpit. Deb Galvin was giving the children's sermon.
Following the service the UMW held their annual Christmas Capers from 10:30-12:30 p.m. in Furrow Memorial Hall. All were invited to view the Angel Display, tell Santa
their wishes from 11-12:00 a.m., and enjoy various craft displays. Lunch was a Potato Bar, Salads, Desserts, & Beverages.
 Several members brought their angel collections for all to enjoy. There were notes placed by many
figurines telling the story of their origin.

Ed Schramm Honored at State Volleyball Tournament
 Early UMC member Ed Schramm was nominated by Ridge View High School to receive a sportsmanship award at the Girls State Volleyball Tournament. Ed was honored before the Ridge View Raptors’ state volleyball game on Thursday, November 11,
2010. We join in congratulating Ed for his outstanding example of sportsmanship and support of Schaller-Crestland and Ridge View students. (Ed is on the right in the photos with an official from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Association, middle, and the nominee from Hull Western Christian on the left.)

Even though the Early United Methodist Church was the only church having
services in Early
Sunday, January 24, 2010, in the aftermath of an ice storm, there were
still plenty of children
to participate in the children's sermon led by Deb Galvin.

Bishop Julius Trimble
Early UMC • Wednesday, November 19, 2008
Bishop Julius Trimble’s rescheduled visit to the Northwest District was held on Wednesday, Nov. 19,
2008. He was at the Early UMC
at 1:30 p.m. for a get-acquainted time and light lunch. Clergy were invited to meet with him at 4:00 p.m. at the Storm Lake UMC. All Laity in the district were also invited to share in a light supper at 5:30 p.m. and a time of conversation with the Bishop in Storm Lake.

ANNUAL CHURCH AUCTION AND SOUP LUNCHEON
Furrow Memorial Hall • SUNDAY, JANUARY 27, 2008
 The
Soup Luncheon was a lot of fun and there was quite an interest in the variety of
items up for silent auction.
 It couldn't have been a nicer day. The people trickled in after the church
services had ended. Many from other churches arrived later.
