City of Early Minutes, Special Meeting - June 14, 2007

A special meeting of the Early City Council was held on June14, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall. All Council had been notified and accepted. Mayor Frank Scott called the meeting to order and roll call was taken as follows: Present: Randy Franken, Pennie Irwin, Vince Davis, Richard Snyder and Bill Cougill. Also present were Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure and Supervisor Jack Bensley.

The meeting was called to discuss the resignation of Police Chief Roger Ray and where to proceed from here.

A motion to contract with the Sheriff's Department for 40 hours per month and that the deputy lives in Early if possible failed. Ayes: Snyder. Nays: Irwin, Franken, Cougill, Davis.

A motion was unanimously passed to bring a proposal to the county supervisors for a contract for 60 hours per month and that the deputy lives in Early if possible.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m. on voice vote.
