City of Early Minutes - July 5, 2005

The regular meeting of the Early City Council was held on July 5, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall. Mayor Frank Scott called the meeting to order and roll call was taken as follows: Present: Pennie Irwin, Dale Nellis and Vince Davis. Absent: Richard Snyder and Randy Franken.

Motion was unanimously passed by those present to approve the agenda with the addition of discussion on tree trimmingand Crossroads Days. Motion was unanimously passed by those present to approve the minutes as submitted.

A letter was read from ICAP concerning anyone’s interest in serving on the ICAP Board of Directors.

Supt. DPW Ray Musselman reviewed his monthly written report with the Council. Checked the sewer for sludge deposits in the cells, removed four large turtles from the lagoon, helped locate a water leak, lightning hit the south pump house of June 26, need to make some repairs to the manhole on First Street by the Farmers Cooperative. Lead and Copper tests will be done on water during this month.

Police Chief Roger Rag reviewed his monthly written report with the Council. There were a number of traffic stops with either verbal or written warnings, investigates a hit-and-run accident, investigated report of theft and vandalism, attended annual update meeting.

Motion was unanimously passed by those present to approve Matt Ehrp to the fire department to replace Kenlee Schomaker, following passing of required physical.

The Sac County Barn Quilt Committee has requested permission to place a barn quilt on City property. Motion was unanimously passed by those present to approve a free standing quilt block to be placed by the City and Organization signs on the south edge of the city and give them a $50 donation.

Councilor Nellis left the meeting at 8:15 p.m. No other business was transacted because there was not a quorum present.
