John And Lola Engler Family
Their oldest son, Floyd Chester Engler b. June 24, 1895, moved to Fort Dodge,
Iowa. He married Madge Mulholland. Madge with her sister, Lucille, had a millinery
shop in Early. They had two children Jack and Jean. Jean became a nurse and
married Gordan Scott and lives in Mo. They had one son and five girls. Jack lives
in Ft. Dodge and worked in a sporting good store. He married Kathryn (Ky). They
had six children, two boys and four girls. Not much is know beyond this. Floyd
died on December 16, 1942, in a truck accident. He served in the Navy WW1 and
later worked for Pfaff Baking Co. in Fort Dodge.
Denzil Rue Engler was their next child b. February 22, 1898. He lived in Early,
Iowa all his life. Denzil was a mechanic for George Wadsley Implement until his
retirement. He married Ella Charity Scothorn on September 11, 1918 in Sac Co.,
Early Iowa. Ella died June 5, 1989 and Denzil passed away June 22, 1981. They had
one son Robert Denzil Engler b. February 25, 1919. Robert married Mary Francis
Jones on June 19, 1945. She passed away June 22, 2001. Robert still lives in
Largo, Fl. They had two children John Robert and Debra Jean. John married Mary Jo
Jensen. They live in Springfield, Mo. They have two sons Joseph and Robert. Joseph
is married to Carol Yappen and they have two sons Andrew and Noah. They live in
Clinton, Iowa. Robert is married to Denise Massey and has a daughter Eliana. They
live in Rockford, Ill. Debra Bousman lives in Clinton, Iowa. She has three
children, Briana, Brooke, and Brett.
Cecil Francis Engler was born September 14, 1901. He married Etoile Coral Hein on
September 4, 1924 in Eldora, Hardin Co., Iowa. Cecil Engler worked for several oil
companies and eventually was a partner with Elmer Evans in Quality Oil Company.
Elmer later sold his share to Leland (Hi) Huston and Artie Simpson. The Quality
Oil Company was dissolved in 1970. He later ran an antique shop. Cecil passed away
March 15, 1981 and Etoile on May 31, 1997. They had two children Thomas Ramon
Engler and Ila Etoile Engler. Ila married Eugene Beers. Eugene died about 1991.
She now lives near her only child, daughter Jaimie Shaffer, in Dubuque, Iowa. Tom
lives in Fort Dodge, Iowa and is married to Jean DeGarmo. They had two children
Rona and Gary, who has passed away. Rona is married to Bruce Patterson and they have
two children, Craig and Kara. They live in La Center, WA.

John Scothorn Sr Family:
Ella, Amber, John Sr., Nellie (Specht) his wife sitting, holding Grace and Albertha. John Jr. wasn't born yet. Picture was taken on the Specht farm. George and Zellma Specht bought the farm in 1883, 2 1/2 miles north of Early, Iowa. In 1898 Mr. and Mrs. George Specht bought a home in Early, Iowa and John and Nellie moved onto the farm.
