Could we have had much hotter weather for our annual celebration?
Despite the hot, hot temperatures there were a lot of activities. Friday evening was the Early Class
Reunion was held at the High School along with the D.J. Hundred Proof and the American Legion Beer Garden.
Saturday started with the Queen Contest, which was sponsored by the Early Woman's Club. Following the
interviews of the candidates, Kaela Franken, daughter of Randy and Kari Franken was selected as this year's
Crossroads Day Queen.
The noon meal was served by the FFA and free ice cream sundaes were served by Citizens 1st National
Bank staff. Pony rides and face painting were part of the afternoon fare along with games for the children.
The Crestland Reunion was held at the High School multipurpose room during the afternoon.
One of the highlights of this year's Crossroads Days was the Folk Singer Dennis Ostrowski. Mr Ostrowski
actually arrived in Early on Thursday to get a better feel of the community and to garner more background
material on Early.
The parade was held at 4 p.m. followed by a concert by the Ralph Scott Orchestra. Supper was served by
the Early Woman's Club. Horse Wagon Rides were giving by The Mason Family.
The day ended with the Band Tantrum 2 Blind performing at the Beer Garden.
A big thank you to everyone who in anyway helped to make this celebration possible. It takes a lot of
planning and work to pull it all together. A number of the committee were out in the heat for most of the day.
A special thank you to Whiplash Entertainment who provided the sound system for the day. Randy was out
in that heat all day! Thank You!!
