Bruce Kolbe
The Grand Marshall of the Parade was Bruce Kolbe, formerly from Nemaha and now living in Sioux City, who is Potentate of the Abu Bekr Shriners. He will be leading the Crossroads Days Parade this year accompanied by his wife Bev.

The Abu Bekr Temple is one of 191 Shrine Temples throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Shrine is a fraternity and also supports a major charity in the form of the Shrine Hospitals for Children.

Members of the Ancient Arabic order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine for North America are members of the Masonic Order and adhere to the principles of Freemasonry -- Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. Through the years these getherings became a membership bound together by an enjoyment of life in the interest of philanthropy. The men in the organization enjoy life -- they enjoy parades, trips, circuses, dances, dinners, sporting events and other social occasions together.

Through their volunteer units of drum & bugle corps, Oriental bands, motor patrols, horse patrols, and clown units, they perform in many local parades to raise funds for the "World's Greatest Philanthropy," Shriners hospitals for Children.

There will be several Shriner's groups participating in the Saturday morning parade with the White Horse Mounted Patrol to perform immediately following the parade. Click here for more photos of the Shriners.
