Early Today (2004) Early's main street has changed a lot from years past. Left to right: Heartland Marketing, The Center, Post Office, office building, Wadsley Building, and Bar.

![]() The bank is still located on the same corner with a new facade. It is now a branch of Citizens First National out of Storm Lake.
The east side of mainstreet north of the stop sign shows Citizens First National Bank, a small business building (recently vacated by Early Builders), a large block garage-type building, a house (not visible) and the Presbyterian church.
The east side of mainstreet south of the stop sign contains an apartment building, Carla's Mane Creations, the Municipal Building, a former garage/gas station now privately owned (not shown) and the Farmers Coop Elevator. ![]() Carla's Mane Creations ![]() The Municipal Building houses the City Clerks office, library, Legion, with space available to rent for public gatherings.
Heartland Marketing is across the street. ![]() Next to Heartland Marketing on the West side of Main Street is "The Center", a community center available for rent and hosting the morning coffee club. The citizens of Early and surrounding communities pulled together in the 1980s to finance a new restaurant. It was built in the city park along the highway. It originally started out as a specialty cafe but switched after a couple of years to a very popular family style restaurant known as Crossroads Restaurant and Lounge.
Also located in the city park is a newly-enclosed shelter house.
Other small parks are located in public areas around town. Another business located just west of Main street is Struchen Black Gold Dog Feed and Shooter's Supply store.
Early has four churches in the community.

This is the Schaller-Crestland High School building at Early as it looks today.
Early is now served with the Farmers Coop Elevator located on the east side of Main Street. The main cement storage tower was built in the 1960s, replacing one of the lumber store buildings. |
