Farmall Promenade
In January of 1998, the idea of the Farmall Promenade was conceived. Twelve residents of the "Mighty Small Town" of Nemaha, Iowa (pop. 120) were only trying to draw people to their upcoming centennial.
What they created was a performance that has delighted hundreds of thousands of people across this country and around the world. Square dancing itself is nearly a lost art and square dancing on tractors is something you must see to believe. Nemaha's gentlemen and their "lovely ladies" do their dances with eight antique tractors from the 1950s.
The show is complete with the patter of a square dance caller who directs them to swing their partners, promenade their ladies fair, grand right and left, and do-si-do.

City of Schaller, Iowa
Schaller
is located in the Northwest part of Iowa in Sac County. The town, named after
Mr. Phil Schaller, was incorporated in 1882. The town had been founded in August
1879 as a station for the railroad under construction. The economy then, as
currently, was based on commercial support for surrounding farms.
Throughout the middle part of the twentieth century a major industry consisted
of the packers of Bango and Jolly Time popcorn. The presence and size of these
two companies encouraged the townspeople to call Schaller "The Popcorn Capital
of the World."
Popcorn is still a major area crop even though the company headquarters moved on
to other locations in the 1980s. The railroad ceased operations and pulled up
tracks in the 1970s. Transportation connections are by US Hwy 20 and IA Hwy 110.
The major products of the area are Corn (seed and feed), soy beans, pigs,
turkeys, wind generators, and feeder cattle.
